TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

Technical and operational project for reconstruction of the Routing Runway and Signal Light System of Vilnius International Airport at Rūdnios kelias 2 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The category of the reconstructed runway is 4E; the length is 2515 m, and the width with side safety routes is 60 m. There have been the rotational areas of the aircraft at both ends of the runway designed. The reconstruction project includes a complete replacement of the asphalt pavement design of a runway; design a modern system for collecting and discharging surface runoffs and evaluation of the increasing rainfall.

The air safety route has also been strengthened and planned and it now has a drainage system.

Also, the signal light system has been reconstructed, replacing the existing lights with energy efficient LED lights, which will reduce the operating costs of the airport.

The MK 01 Proximity Light System has been designed in accordance with the landing category of CAT II precision, along with the MK 19 Proximity Light System, designed with the landing gear of CAT I precision.

The total cost of the reconstruction works is about 25 million Euros.
